A group of volunteers has been steadily working to improve Roosevelt Park which sits in the shadow of the Michigan Central Depot.

Led by Slows BBQ owner Phillip Cooley and volunteers from Daimler Financial the group obtained permission from the Detroit Recreation Department to improve the park.  Cooley and Diamler Financial also financially supported the effort.

Last summer the group worked on the north end and this summer have focused on the balance of the park installing walkways, raised planting beds, and new grass.

Cheers to all involved for their continuing efforts to improve the area, perhaps changing the impending fate of the MCD.  Would anybody like to share some pictures?
