It’s pretty obvious that this is not in Detroit, but it’s worth looking at just to admire the scaffolding job.
This building was once a Christian Church, later converted to a Mosque, and now serves as a museum. At one time, it was the largest enclosed space on the planet. The dome itself reaches nearly 183 feet tall and is probably the largest surviving dome on pendentives ever built.
The mosaics under the dome are being restored and won’t be done for several more years.
